Henri de Saint-Simon
(17 Oct 1760 - 19 May 1825)
French social philosopher, reformer and writer whose social theories, known as Saint-Simonianism, were spread by his followers throughout Europe. He believed that employers and workers had a common interest in technical progress to raise standards of living. The ills in society could be cured by concentrating on the task of production, whilst maintaining a humanitarian spirit.
