Tennessee Williams
(26 Mar 1911 - 25 Feb 1983)
American playwright who won a Pulitzer Prize for his play A Streetcar Named Desire (1947). Among his other plays, The Glass Menagerie (1945) is also well known. His work ranks him as one of the top three American playwrights of 20th-Century.
