Leigh (Douglass) Brackett
(7 Dec 1915 - 18 Mar 1978)
American screenwriter and writer who, just weeks before her death, finished the first draft screenplay for The Empire Strikes Back, ending a career that began with a novel in 1944, and her first screenplay in 1945. After those, she continued writing books and film scripts, and shortly thereafter, became known as the "Queen of Space Opera."

In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day.
