Herbert A. Simon
(15 Jun 1916 - 9 Feb 2001)
American social scientist who was a pioneer of the development of computer artificial intelligence. He contributed to fields including psychology, mathematics, statistics, and operations research. He was awarded the 1978 Nobel Prize for economics.
