Richard Henry Tawney

British historian and philosopher who was an economic historian and social philosopher. He was was a Fabian socialist whose ideas were a great influence on the philosophy of the British left. He wrote moral condemnations of the capitalist economic and social system.

In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again.
