Welsh poet and writer whose powerful, captivating, lyrical poetry is regarded as among the most important of the twentieth century. He made over a hundred broadcasts for the BBC. On a reading tour of America, he died at age 39 following a binge drinking hard liquor, he fell into a coma. The post-mortem indicated pneumonia and brain swelling.
