Sir John Randall
(23 Mar 1905 - 16 Jun 1984)
English physicist whose critical improvements to the cavity magnetron, the microwave-generating device used in radar, was a major contribution to winning WWII. A magnetron is now commonplace in homes inside the microwave oven.
