Dorothy M. Wrinch
(12 Sep 1894 - 11 Feb 1976)
English mathematician and biologist who was the first woman to receive a Doctor of Science degree at Oxford University. She was versatile in pure mathematics, theoretical physics, molecular biology, philosophy and sociology. Wrinch applied mathematical principles to research into unlocking the key to protein structure.
