(1815 - 1880)
French writer whose maxims were published in Pailles et Poutres (1877). His other books include Observations (1856), Les Moralistes Oubliés (1858), Danton (1879), and Les hommes de la Révolution française (1841). He was editor of Charivari and Journal Amusant.
