L. Welch Pogue
(21 Oct 1899 - 10 May 2003)
American lawyer who was chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board. He was born when the Wright Brothers were running their bicycle shop, and died at the age of 103. After WWII, at the request of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, he had a leading role in drafting plans for postwar international civil aviation.
