Sir Raymond Priestley
(20 Jul 1886 - 24 Jun 1974)
English geologist and administrator who traveled as a geologist with Ernest Shakelton’s Nimrod Antarctica Expedition (1907-09) and returned to Antarctica on Scott’s Terra Nova Expedition (1910-13). By 1938, he was vice-chancellor of the University of Birmingham.

In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again.
