John Thomson
(15 Mar 1765 - 11 Oct 1846)
Scottish physician and surgeon who became Professor of Surgery in Edinburgh (1804) and was President of the Royal College of Physicians (1834). He was a world expert on inflammation, on which he published, along with chemistry, medical administration and The Life and Work of William Cullen.
