Robert Lanza
(11 Feb 1956 - )
American biologist and medical researcher whose biotechnology company, Advanced Cell Technologies, successfully cloned a human embryo in 2001, and also cloned near extinct (guar, 2001) and extinct (banteng, 2003) mammals. In 2005, Lanza and his colleagues developed a technique for generating embryonic stem cells that leaves the embryo viable.
