L. Frank Baum
(15 May 1856 - 6 May 1919)
American author, actor and film-maker , bred prize-winning chickens, toured America as an actor, worked as a salesman for a company that made lubricating oil, was a traveling salesman for a glassware firm, but gained fame as a children's book author. He is best-known for creating the Wonderful Wizard of Oz classic.
